Vagifem Prescription

My doctor just prescribed Vagifem 10 mcg vaginal suppositories for me to address my dryness (this dose has just been FDA approved - prior dosage was 25 mcg). I was told that a progestin is not usually needed because very little estrogen from the medication is absorbed into the blood (when compared with oral tablets, patches or gel). Can anyone tell me if this is accurate since a huge concern of mine is limiting the exposure to estrogen which can increase the chances of uterine cancer. Can you remain on this medication long term?

Thanks for any feedback you can offer.
