Unhappy Pelvic Discomfort for 4 months!

I have been experiencing discomfort for a pretty long time and cannot figure out the cause. This pain is primarily on the left side of my groin area above just to the left and above the vaginal opening. I sometimes feel discomfort on the right side as well close to where my leg and torso meet. I feel totally fine in the morning. This discomfort only appears after either working out (hiking, climbing, yoga, etc) or towards the end of the workday after I've been walking around a lot OR if I use a warm compress, then it feels very bad. The feeling is like an impact wound, like someone hit me, but nothing of this nature has happened. The gynocologists have searched for disease taken swabs, etc and have found nothing. A ultrasound (searching for hernia without finding one) found a largeish cyst (2.8cm) in the right ovary, but the dr did not think this was related to my pain. Ice does relieve pain and I have been taking advil, but really want to get better and really dont know what to try next. My general & OBGYN expect this to go away with time but it has already been 4 months!

Another problem I have which the GI specialist said was unrelated is some constipation and possible ulcer or IBS. I am going to have a colonoscopy to check this out. Could this be related? Are there any tests I should have?

Re: Pelvic Discomfort for 4 months!

I was going to say the pain on the left side could be constipation or IBS related as I have issues with that as well before I read your second paragraph. The pain on the right is probably the cyst they found. Doesn't make much sense to me that the doctor would write that off as being unrelated to the pain.

Sounds like you already have or are about to undergo the proper testing. Hopefully your doctors will understand you are in pain and need help instead of just kind of brushing it off.
