anxious need advice
After every test you could possibly think of I still have no diagnosis. Three years ago I had a swelling behind my eye, not sure what caused it but I was sent to hospital and had a lumbar puncture to releive pressure. Things have got worse ever since. After I experienced fainting and vertigo for several weeks. But it was about a year after when things changed for the worse. I noticed that my balance was impaired and walking became difficult. I didn't fall or anything like that so I could not explain why this was happening. Twitching started in my legs and although they were not painful they were annoying. I started feeling weak and went to see my GP. He was very good and referred me to the medical team at my local hospital. They ordered a number of tests including checking my heart and also an MRI of the spine and brain. The brain scan came back clear however they noticed some deteriation on the spinal cord. They said it was due to wear and tear but I am only 43 years old. I felt that no-one believed me. I was told that I had ddd of the spine and they seemed concerned about my neck, not sure why. Im really scared that I have someting like MS or ALS. The worst thing now is that I have difficulty with my hands and arms. I am unable to grip and lift anything. The pain in my arms is terrible. My GP has tried all pain relief that and now Im having to take morphine just to get a few hours of relief. If anyone out there has any ideas then please write back.
Have had an update due to having trouble with my balance and walking I have seen a physiotherapist. After talking to them for an hour about my condition and them checking my limitations they have ordered another mri of the spine. They have to check for something that has caused numbness and apparently my reflexes were poor. If there is anyone out there with similar symptoms please get in touch
