does menstruation cause headaches

does menstruation cause headaches? Ive been having these light headaches, Even tablets dont make them go away. I thought after giving birth all the menstruation pains go away but to me I still have them. I've got two kids now, Acne before my periods, Painful breasts and its worse this headache.

Re: does menstruation cause headaches

Changes in hormone levels can definitely cause headaches. You're not alone!

Re: does menstruation cause headaches

yes they can...sigh we are told that once we have our little ones things change for the better....yeah right lol i have more severe and heavier cramps and small clots than i ever had in my life and my last one is 14 now! so i would put this down to your period...also try an OTC LIQUID acetominophin extra strength if you haven't already...i have had the worst ocular migraines (period unrelated) to the point where i go temp. blind in one eye and i freak out and once i lay down and take this meds they are almost as good as a dr would give you! try them out if you haven't already, they are AMAZING!!!

Re: does menstruation cause headaches

Yes they can. But my ob/gyn told me that they can switch you to a pill that you won't have headaches on. So you might want to call your dr and see. I suffer from menstrual migraines. I get them during the placebo pill. So my ob told me to skip the placebo for 3 months and then let myself have a period. I hope this will help. Good luck
