Late AF, Neg. HPT

I am seeing several of us on the boards who are late for AF but are getting negatives on the HPT's. I am now at day 31 (usually, when all is normal, I go 25 days). I have tested 3 times since day 26 and all are negative. Does this concern anyone because of low HCg levels? I am just curious because I've already had one miscarriage and am hoping I can catch a pregnancy early enough on to make sure it doesn't happen again (if possible). Anyway, if still no AF by Saturday, I will test one more time. After that it will have to be a doctor's office visit to figure out what is wrong with me. My FSH levels were 3.5 on 12/28, indicating that I am definitely ovulating. Can that change from month to month? I am 43...by the way...

How are you guys (FriendlyRobyn, AllusivePond, Mommarican) dealing with this? Do you have any information? Just curious...am not really excited about the possiblity of being pg because I don't want to be disappointed and I don't have too many symptoms. I was hoping for AF so DH and I can get down to business again this next month. I really want our baby...ideas? Anyone?

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

Hi Autumnleaves! Great question, I honestly just try to forget about it. I know, thatís really hard, but there are so many similarities between feeling AF and feeling PG that I sometimes feel like Iím confusing myself. Like I posted on a past thread, I was regular with my periods while on the BCP, but as soon as I got off, I had 2 months normal, then wacky, wacky, wacky! So, you can imagine my frustration, being almost 2 months late and then I kept on getting negative HPTís. I even went for a blood test and that was negative

This time, Iím just really crampy! Especially today, but my bbís donít hurt at all and last time (like when I was really late) major pain. This time, I have heartburn almost everyday and I still feel kind of bloated. I have already taken 2 HPTís both a week apart, so Iím hoping that I just took them too early

Anyhow, thatís what happened to my sister-in-law. Oh, and my Mom had 3 HPTís and 2 blood testsÖfinally, when she was took the second blood test, she finally got a positive, and she was 3 months pg with ME! I heard that there isnít any proof that it can happen to me, and I really donít want to agonize the way she did, but I guess weíll see. Are you guys feeling pretty emotional? I am Ė I guess I will wait until Friday to test, if I get another Ė then, I am going to have to call the doctor, because I canít seem to regulate. I am very hopeful that the spotting I had on the January 28th was implantation (I hope); however, why canít I get a normal + like everyone else? Iíll even take a stupid faint line! I never had one of those before. Well, sorry this answer has taken so long, but Iíve been working on it a while. Thanks for your patience.

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

At least I see I am not alone in my consternation! I just want to move forward so I can keep trying! I can't know if I'm ovulating if I don't get a starting point with AF! Sigh....

Good luck to you, though!!! Let's keep each other posted, probably on the ttc thread! Have a great day!!!

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

I cant help but think this bit of af that i started at 3pm could be a m/c. I havent seen af for 40 days! I worried very much about this. I dont think a dr. will help you figure out if there is a "reason" for m/c unless youve had more than 2! sounds crazy huh?

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

I am very frustrated, like everyone else this waiting is stupid I say, there should be a test where its just automatic detection. I am definitely going to doc on thursday for blood test I will get the results on friday. This is just to much. I want to know where I stand pg or not. Either way at this stage would be almost a relief. If it comes out - then i will wait another week and if still no AF then i want another b/t.

Momma: like you I am trying to relax but I have just been so indecisve, going to doc then not going, thinking AF was here and wasnt, symptoms and no sypmtoms. And HPT after another. Its ridiculous

here's to hoping

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

I am in the same boat too, and more and more confused about the seemingly almost-identical symptoms of pg, AF and O. The more I read the more confused I am! It's overtaking my thoughts at work and I just want those TWO BLUE LINES!!!!

Happy Day to all of you.......

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

Boy! I am glad to see I am not alone. Robyn, you have had spotting now? Did you make a doctor's appointment? I hope this is not or was not a miscarriage. If so, you definitely need to have doc figure out what is going on since it is the second. And if that is what it is, then I am so very sorry. You know we've both been through it before but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

I am on day 32, no spotting. One of the on-line charting analyses says that I am still waiting to ovulate...another line in the analysis says I may have ovulated between day 22 and day 24. I kind of thought I hadn't ovulated either. My tatas are getting a little sore but nothing excruciating. I have also had some nausea for the last few weeks, but no sickness and it doesn't last, so I think that is just from stress (my job). I can't go to doc and get blood test because I still haven't received proof of insurance (my coverage is retroactively effective 2/1). The doctor's office will not set up an appointment without proof.

Mommarican, your words are definitely inspiring though. My husband and I want to have a baby so badly...but I just don't "feel" pregnant!

Good luck to you ladies...Robyn, please keep us posted and go to the doctors!

How are you all doing today?

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

autumn, i dont think its a m/c im just saying that i have thought seriously about how that could HAPPEN. I can now tell by the texture of af its NOT a m/c for sure. I wouldnt worry about a super early m/c unless yours was a super early! (before week 6) With mine iwas told and thought i was 11 weeks but it stopped developing at 8.5. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WITH EVERYTHING! waiting game sucks!pardon my language

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

Good Robyn. Thank God it isn't. Yes, mine was at 5 1/2 weeks gestation. Are you going to use the ovulation monitor this month? I know there has been some discussion but I can't remember, besides TCB who else was thinking of using it. If my DH was working, we might also consider it...

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

GETS GRAPHIC WARNING:I dont have one and realy didnt want to buy one. DH and I have been pinching pennies to pay off our huge debt. within 2 years. I understand the bbt but im getting tired of holding the thermometer in my mouth for 5 min b4 i get out of bed every morning! bbt charting is cheap and reliable, still hasnt worked, but im okay with it. How long does the monitor taketo use each morning? You have one right? Wow yours m/c was early! So you had a + hpt? Was it physicaly painful? mine was because of the vaginal pills the dr. inserted, they made have HORRIBLE contractions. I needed them because it wouldnt come out(good sign, means i can hold a bb but might need c sec yikes!) did yours look like an obvious m/c or blood clots(sorry to be so graphic just wanting to make sure my little clotting is af this month for i usually clot some)my m/c was OBVIOUS m/c no mistaking what came out.

Re: Late AF, Neg. HPT

I lost my baby at 5 1/2 weeks. The gestational sac came out at home. The bleeding was pretty much like a heavy period. It was not physically painful, no contractions. It was emotionally painful...
