Whitewolf - need your advice again

Yep, it is me again. I need your opinion on something. The "accident" that I previously asked you about has got me wondering about something. Since my last period ended and I had the accident, I have had a dull cramping almost constant. It is like light menstrual cramps. Do you think this could be a sign of pregnancy? Sometimes I have to really try to figure out if it is menstual like cramps or gas pains but I am leaning more towards the menstrual cramps. Also, if I push on my breasts, they are a little tender. (this was the first sign I noticed with my last pregnancy) What do you think? Could I be pregnant? What is your first gutt instinct on this one? I appreciate your help! Kim

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

My gut says it could be pregnancy. But my mind says dont get excited just yet. You see I am very cautious when it comes to this because I spent three years TTC our second son. I would jump everytime witht he slighetest day late or slightest sign of pregnancy. It got to the point of being heartbreaking to me. So I gave up on the hoping.
I know it gets nerve racking waiting to be able to take a test and such. Try to keep busy.

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

Thanks so much for your response. I am very impatient when it comes to things like this. I had a pregnancy test so as impatient as I am, I thought what the heck, take the test and see if anything happens. (It has now been 11 days since the accident). It was negative. Do you think that it was way too early to be accurate? I have another test I will take in a couple of weeks (if I can wait that long) Doesn't it take approximately 10 days from conception before the test will be accurate or is that only if a person would conceive at time of ovulation? I feel like such a dummy! Could the test I just took be accurate??? I am sorry to keep bothering you. It is just good to have someone to talk to about this.

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

Do you still have the box from the test? What was the name of the test? From what I have heard, some tests can only be used after a period is missed because of the HCG levels in your blood ( and how much of it the test can detect.) The ones that can be used earlier usually detect 20mlU of HCG in the urine. Many store-bought ones are only accurate if used after a period is missed. Take a look at the box and see if you can find how many units of HCG it detects.

The test was a Fact Plus. I have the box at home, I will try to remember to look at it. Do you know anything about Fact Plus tests? I am guessing it is too early to detect, but thought I would give it a shot anyway.

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

Kim - I know how anxious you feel! I am in the same boat! I might be pregnant also - but I don't know for sure because my period isn't due until next saturday or so. I haven't taken any tests yet. Anyway . . . I did some research on home preg. tests and this is what I found: The lowest amount of HcG that fact plus tests detect is between 150-250 mIU. What does that mean? Well, fact plus showed up on the list as the worst test to use for early detection of pregnancy - so I wouldn't trust the results at all. The best ones to use would be AimStick or CVS home pregnancy test. They can detect amounts as low as 20 mIU. (which is ALOT lower) EPT detects around 40 mIU. (In case you were wondering)

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

Thanks so much for the information. I have always used Fact Plus because for some reason seeing the plus sign just felt so much more real to me. But now the test has changed and it is no longer a plus sign. It is just 2 circles and when one is red it means the test is done and if the other has a blue color in it, it is positive. Were you trying to conceive? If you read my post, you will know that I wasn't actually trying, however, I would be overjoyed if I were pregnant again. I have two beautiful daughters and would love it if we could have a boy (But another girl would be more than fine too) Let me know how things go for you. By the way, just from reading my symptoms, what is your feeling on my possibility of being pregnant?

Thanks again! Kim

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

I also am NOT trying to conceive. I went off of the pill for a month because I was getting headaches - but we haven't used any protection since and the timing was right on. (that is, if I ovulate on or around day 14) We currently have a little girl who is almost two. She is a handful, but another baby would be OK. My husband is ready for another . . . me, I'm not so sure. I have to giggle when I read your first post about getting menstrual-like cramps. I had those too for a few days and then they went away. Maybe it's all in my head! Anyway, I plan to take a test in about a week or so. Its hard for me to say what I think - going by your symptoms - because I am having the same ones! I am just nervous because my daughter was conceived while I was on the pill. (yes, I missed a few!!) Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Re: Whitewolf - need your advice again

Here are a list of popular HPT that are out on the market and how sensitive they are. 10 days post conception, the body should have produced 20mIU/ml of hcg. If I recall the number doubles every 3 days.If you find yourself getting a negative on some of these you may have just taken it too early. Hope this helps some. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Aim MidStream 20 mIU/ml HcG
