I went to the doctors for my annual femal exam in October, the doctor said I looked like I was pregnant, however I don't have any symptoms (unless weight gain is a symptom?)He ordered a blood test, and that returned negative, Since then I waited four weeks and then I did a home pregnancy test that also showed negative. The doctor does not seem to be worried and told me to come back to the office next year for my next yearly.
I want to add that I have never been on birth control, and my husbund has had a visectomy! I have not had a period since mid to late august, except for an occasional spotting. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? The doctor has already ruled out thyriod problems.
I wouldn't just forget about it. First of all you didn't say how old you are. If your in your 40's you could be in the beginning of menopause. If you are younger I would see another gyn. There are quite a few things that can cause you to skip periods and gain weight. May be stress, psychological (depression), thyroid, pituitary, ovarian failure, or a serious gyn. problem. If it were me personally I would see another doc and let them tell you what they think. Good luck and God Bless.
