Hi again. What works best for me is an over-the-counter pill- Aqua Ban. There is another one called Diurex, but I haven't tried that one.

Also, water with lemon juice should help.

hi anonymity, i think its also a good idea to know what might have caused you to bloat alot so you will know better how to prevent it.
[This message has been edited by moderator2 (edited 12-07-2002).]

If you get bloating before your periods as part of PMS, then you will probably need to reduce your salt intake. Having too much salt in your diet can lead to bloating.

Also, at that time of the month, eat a good healthy diet with plenty of fruit and veg and cut out soda and coffee. You may find that taking Evening Primrose Oil helps too.

Reducing salt and caffeine intake are great suggestions!

I'd also like to add: drink plenty of water, as contrary as it sounds.

Also be careful with diuretics. They promise so much and do so little, and can also result in constipation.

Edit: Keep (or start) exercising too, even though you might not feel great about your body at the moment, it's so important.
[This message has been edited by Xia (edited 12-08-2002).]

I agree with Xia, drink lots and lots of water. It help flush whatever that is causing you to retain water such as salt or caffeine.
