For the past couple of years my cycles have been very heavy. I have also had clots the size of golfballs and
I go through pads like crazy. I can't use tampons because the tampons would not last past 1 hour before
I had to change again. I have had a pap smear but the
doctor keeps telling me this is normal. Does this type
of problem happen alot?

my best friend was havign the same probelm. She was only 17 and he doctor had to put her on birth control for that and her cramps were so bad. i would talk to your doctor again or get a secodn opioin from a womens clinic.

You should not have to be putting up with these problems. See the doc again and have him check for things like endometriosis etc. Golf ball size clots each month is not a normal thing. If you can't get a good answer out of your usual doc then see another doc who will help you.

i agree with mela, i would definatley get a second opinion there are too many options out there for woman, you could get on a low dose birth control pill to regulate and help your cramps, my mom has endometriosis and had horrible back pains and cramps until she had her hysterectomy but you should be able to get something to help you, i would get a different doc if this one isnt listening...
