Re: Went to the dr

yes, there is strong cramping, but not very long. Take a strong painkiller like ibuoprofen an hour beforehand. My gyno let me take a heating pad to use during the procedure, or you can use one of the disposable heating pads now that last 12 hours.

Re: Went to the dr

I've had endometrial biopsies done four times over the past few years w/o any pain medication beforehand. It really isn't that bad, just a quick pinch and it's over in about 10 seconds. I had some spotting and a bit of cramping afterwards and felt fine later on. I guess I'm just used to it by now! LOL!

Re: Went to the dr

Hi Lisa,

I suffered from endometriosis for many, many years and I finally had an endometrial biopsy done and I concur with Diane. The pain only lasted seconds, a little cramping afterwards and that was it. Fortunately the results came back negative. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.<p>[This message has been edited by China jGirl (edited 11-25-2002).]

Re: Went to the dr

The biopsy can tell a lot to the doctor from what he's told me. He said it tells if there are any cancerous cells and the hormone levels amongst probably other findings.

Luckily, mine came back fine and only needed a D & C once because I had polyps which were removed then.
