I had the exact same symptoms (including GERD), but I also had a high fever. I haven't had any kids. My symptoms just started out of the blue one day. Have you had an MRI? People with MS often times have brain lesions that show up on an MRI. I actually had a weird, unknown virus. The symptoms were horrible and I felt completely alone. The only thing that proved it wasn't stress related was that I had a high fever and my white blood cell count went up and down a lot. I was tested for many, many different viruses. In the end, the doc just gave up. She called it a virus of the nervous system. It took me over a year to get back to normal.
