aspertame and ovarian cysts

I am 19 and recently I have been in and out of the hospital for an ovatian cyst. Since they found it, it has ruptured but, i have had some abdomnial pain along with headaches, fatigue, loss of memory / appetite, vision / weight loss and severe anxiety attakcs. I work for hospital ambulance service and after talking to one of MEDICS, he explained to me that maybe I should not drink Diet Coke anymore. Can Diet Coke be a factor to these problems that I have been having??

Re: aspertame and ovarian cysts

wow, that is an interesting question, i drink diet coke/pepsi all day long.......but have also learned that your body doesnt know what to do with the aspartame once it is in the bodoy. I take a biology course and that is what my teacher told us. She said that the artificial sweeteners are made in a specific shape to trick the tongue to think it is sweet( we are talking about metabolism and enzymes) but after it passes your tongue it doesnt know what to do with it. I have also been thinking a lot about this since yesterday and am considering cutting down my diet soda intake for this reason. Very good question as I have many of the same things that you mentioned.........if I find out anything, I will post it. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: aspertame and ovarian cysts

I just had a long letter in my email about 2 weeks ago relating some of the problems that aspartame can cause from lupus/MS type symtoms to chronic fatigue symtoms and a whole lot more. I would not hesitate to give up the aspartame and drink something else and use some other sweetner if you use it on your foods for at least a month to see if it helps or not.
