I am taking Ortho-Cyclen for the past 6 months or so with no problems. Recently, with the Xmas holiday coming up and New Years also, I decided to skip my period for 2 months straight. I asked my doc and she said there shouldn't be a problem. I am on my 6th week straight of pills and got my period, and it's unusually more painful than my regular periods are. Has anyone else had this problem?
Your body will do its best to stay on track for itself. So trying to force it not to have periods tends to cause it to come whenever. Your body is designed to have periods.
Most women when they try to skip period do wind up with spotting or a flow blown period at the most unexpected times. It is common thing to happen with the pill.
The reason there is more pain is probably due to you trying to skip your period so the lining built up more hence more cramping to get rid of it all.
Call your doctor and talk to her.
I tried doing this too once and ended up having bleeding for 14 straight days. I'm not sure why, maybe if I kept skipping the pills it would've skipped it eventually but I don't know. Just thought I'd share my story!
I tried skipping the green pills on ortho tri cyclen and my period lasted 24 days. The worst month of my life! Skipping pills is not a good thing for your body, especially if you are on the 'tri' pills which have different amounts of hormones every week.
