cysts on ovaries

3 questions- What medication is used and since I have cysts on both ovaries will they opt for surgery? Also can these cysts cause excess hair growth?

Re: cysts on ovaries

What kind of medications are used for what? To treat ovarian cysts? I don't think that you can take anything to get rid of the cysts. Although I have heard that taking a birth control pill regularly will help keep them at bay.
I have had ovarian cysts for years. So many of them actually that when I was pregnant with my daughter, they saw the clusters of cysts on the ultrasound, they were quite concerned. I have had the cysts rupture once in a while, and that is one of the most painful experinences I have ever had.
But my doc assures me that there is no need for surgery, unless one of them gets way too big. I do go for regular ultrasounds.
As for your questions about the excess hair growth- I am not quite sure.
I hope that I have helped you out, and if you have anymore questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

i was on anti biotics and that seemed to do the trick! surgery isnt always necessary, especially if its small.
