Sorry to be so graphic...but it just happened and it freaked me out. This was NOT discharge. This was an inch and a half long mass that was clear, except for a pinkish centre. Anyone have this? My insides have been tender during sex. Is this a fybroid that became unattached and I passed it?
ANyone else have this?
That what you see is yeast (candida) I too had the same exact jelly like mass, and it hurt with sex...i went to a specialist after the general MD did nothing for me...they prescribed me terconazole, which got rid of it...but it caused die-off bigtime...this is when yeast die they let off a toxin in the body and it gives us the feeling like if we have the flu, headaches, depression, and fatigue....also try douching with acidolphilus liquid sold at a health store...this helps balance the PH of the vagina. Eat lots of yogurt with no sugar in it..
At which time of the month did you pass this clot? I don't know how old you are, but are you aware of the thick, clear, slippery discharge that you get during ovulation?
If this happened to you mid-cycle, it probably was that. If you had pain, it was probably your ovaries, ovulating. It isn't uncommon to have a little blood with the ovulation discharge, either. I had it monthly. Doctors describe this discharge as "egg white consistency" - thick and clear.
Most yeast infections are accompanied by itching and a yellowish to greenish colored discharge, not in a "blob" as you described.
Think back to when it happened, time it with your period, and see if that's what it was. If you start to get it monthly, as a lot of us do, you'll know what it is. Also, it indicated a VERY fertile time in your cycle - so beware!
I would go in and get checked since you mention that your insides are tender with sex. Also NEVER douche without a doctors ok. This suggestion is never a good one even if the person uses a "natural" solution for douching. You can introduce to many bacteria if you equipment is not clean and any kind of douching can strip away to many of the bacteria your vagina needs to keep everything in check.
I think the two things are separate.... definitely go get the pain checked out with a doctor.
The clear "blob" is most likely cervical fluid, the most fertile stuff that happens just around ovulation. If it has a bit of blood in it, that was most likely mid cycle spotting, and is indicative of you being very fertile right now. A great book to read is Taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler, talks all about this stuff.
I must concur 100% with diva-liz, I believe what you passed was probably the cervical mucus that women get each month during peak fertility. You may also notice that prior to having the egg-white cervical mucus [EWCM], you will have a sticky to creamy discharge for a few days. Its not a symptom of a problem, its just part of your monthly fertility cycle.
As for the pain, if it persists [providing its not being generated by vigorous sex?] - should be checked by a doctor.
I highly recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" be read, not only by you but by any woman that truly wants to know & understand how her body functions.
