My daughter is 9 and told me today that there was some blood there when she peed. She said it happened about 3 days ago also. I am not surprised if it is her first period and we have discussed it, she is developing very fast and had pubic hair at age 7. She is also starting to develop breasts. I am curious is this too young?? Also, would she just spot like she did with 3 days in between? Thanks for the info!
Wow, sounds like your little girl is growing up! I don't have a daughter but I've heard of periods starting at that age for some.
The only other thing I can think of where she would have some spotting is if she might have a bladder infection.
Does she say it stings or anything like that to urinate? If not, then it's probably just her hormones getting ready to do their thing.
I'd say if it concerns you, you could always call the pediatrician or your family doctor for some advice to set your mind at ease.
Isn't it something when you see your babies start maturing before your very eyes?! I have two boys, one 20 and 15 and remember all the changes that took place which seemed to be an early age and it sure makes you realize that they no longer are babies!
Hi Momoftwokids,
I started my period at 10.If your daughter is developing fast, she may be starting.Like Dianek said, ask her if it stings when she pees and you may want to go ahead and take her to the doctor just to make sure...
i wouldn't worry. I started mine at the age of nine! I suggest having her wear panty liners incase so she has no accidents at school, because she proboably is about to start.
As stated though if u still have any questions call the doc!
good luck though! your girl is growing up <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
