Yeast Infection, BV, or what?!

Okay, so in August I started getting a clear watery discharge, enough to wear a panty liner. I didnt know what it was, but after the 2nd day, I got a white slightly greenish discharge, so I bought Monistat 3, it helped while I was using it, but after it started again, then I got my period. After my period, the white discharge came back. I then bought Monistat 7, and like I said, it helped while I was using it, but then after being done with it, it slowly started again. When my husband and I had sex, it was painful, like a burning sensation. I finally went to the doctor. The doctor said she saw some yeast, so I was treated for yeast AND BV. After being done with my medication for both infections, my discharge started again! WTH?!! Its a white discharge, no odor..
What else could be causing this discharge?! I am fed up with it!

Re: Yeast Infection, BV, or what?!

Girl,
Sorry to hear that...i've been suffering from the same problem for 6 months now...after seeing 3 different ob-gyn and taking loads of meds...I realized that my body is responding better now without any pills or suppositories. the last doctor i saw said that the body tends to fight minor issues, like discharges, and that I should leave it alone. I think the time is healing it really slowly but surely. But I'd advise you to wear condoms if you have sex to avoid passing whatever it might be there back and forth between you and your husband. Good luck and hang in there

Re: Yeast Infection, BV, or what?!

Thanks for replying!
I think im going to go to the doctor and tell her that the medicine did nothing, and see what she suggest
So, are you still dealing with it? What do you do to make it better?

Re: Yeast Infection, BV, or what?!

Well, for the discharge doctor didn't prescribe anything, because we're still waiting on results of a second swab for vaginal cultures, as well as for the results of my pap smear and HPV screening. Last time i got cultured, no candida could be found although i had the classical symptoms of itching, white discharge...as of now, the discharge varies according to my cycle and it's hard to analyse what really is going on. Doc said " I have nothing" but i can't accept the fact that constant itching/burning/weird discharge/ discomfort may be considered nothing. She prescribed me clobetasol for my vulvar itching, and it's helping though. I took so many different meds that i'd rather giver my body a break. Post what your doctor said and the suggested treatment, so we can try to find a solution for us both. I'll post mine as well when I get my results.

Unhappy Re: Yeast Infection, BV, or what?!

I see. Yeah, sometimes the body tries to fight infections itself. Im going to get my blood drawn tomorrow, and talk to the doctor to tell her that the medicine didnt get rid of my problem. I will post what she said.. maybe it'll help you too.

I dont know if this would be helpful, since you said you were negative for the yeast screening, but I heard tea tree oil is suppose to be good for fighting infections and bacteria.. mostly yeast though.

We'll hope we can help each other with our womanly troubles. hehe.
