Please help - what just happened?!

Hello,
First off I'll start by stating that I am a gay female that has not had sex with a male for over 3 years. I am 24 years old. Basically - whatever this is, it has absolutely nothing to do with a possibility of me being pregnant (unless I'm the modern virgin mary)...
SO, during the week I have been having some minor cramping and my period was about to come on. I started bleeding yesterday lightly. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible pain in my stomach, back, thighs, etc...I haven't had cramps that bad before. This morning I woke up and as soon as I stood up a bunch of blood came out (sorry this will be disgusting). I got into the shower and wasn't really feeling as much pain anymore (could be because of the pain medicine I took at night). All of the sudden when I looked down there was this big red thing. At first I thought it was just a bunch of blood, but then it didn't wash down. I look at it more and it was in a perfectly round shape about 2 inches big. It looked exactly like some kind of empty sack. I put on a rubber glove and pick it up and it was like a rubbery sack...with most of the blood washed off it was a flesh-like color. If I had to compare it to something, it looked basically like the sack that goes around an ovary maybe a little bigger, but researching everything says that you cannot pass this sack and that it decomposes on its own. I am currently on BC (seasonique) to control my excessive periods and cysts.
So WTH was this? ...I have a OBGYN appointment in about 2 weeks...

Ummm, this is NOT normal. Forget 2 weeks, CALL the gyn and tell them what you wrote here. They may want to biopsy or see what you passed if you still have it.

I definitely think you should see a doctor, pronto. You may have shed the lining of your uterus, maybe? Not sure why. Definitely don't wait, and take the thing you found with you in a plastic bag or something.

I'm not certain of what the sack was but I do know that sometimes when you've been on the pill a good while that you have build up in your uterus that can all pass at one time. My doctor told me once that they call it "passing a cast." And that's kind of what it feels like. I always had bad cramps but that time was truly awful. But I don't recall passing anything other than lots of blood. I'd at least call and ask if they want to see you sooner.

Re: Please help - what just happened?!

I called the OBGYN yesterday to ask if I should come in earlier. I explained the whole thing over the phone to the doctor and she said that it was probable the lining of my uterus, which I told her I doubted because of the shape...still she said that so long as I'm not bleeding excessively or in a lot of pain that I should be okay...they bumped my appointment up to next Tuesday...will let y'all know then what they say.
