What seems like 'milk'

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting on a health forum but I've got an issue and I'm wondering if anyone can help me.

As far as I know I am not pregnant, but whenever i 'tug' (hope this makes sense) my nipple upwards, what looks very similar to milk sprays out of it. I'm not talking a little drop of milk (although this is how it started, probably 3 months ago now) - I mean a very powerful spray of milk.

I have been on the pill for over a year, and although sometimes I am not the best at taking it on time, I have had 'periods' during the days I am not taking the tablets during the 28 days. When this 'milk' first started happening, I took (I think) 3 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. Like I said though, this was a few months ago.

So, I am probably not pregnant? I guess my question to everyone is - did this happen during your pregnancies? Or is there any other causes that you know of? I have read things online relating to "discharge" or "droplets" in women who are not pregnant but this is on a completely different scale and am unable to find anything about it anywhere.

I would really like the most honest answer... I have a doctor appoint for next week, and I don't really know how to go about phrasing it, as I am going for something else and so will have to just bring it up somehow.

Thank you so much for any information you can give me - I am completely clueless about it all.

Oh and in case it is of interest - I am 22 years old and have always had normal periods, never any breast problems before, and in good physical health (as far as I am aware!)

Many thanks in advance.

Re: What seems like 'milk'

You need to have your prolactin level checked. I did the same thing and mine was due to a tiny non cancerous pit. tumor which i am on meds for but could also be caused from certain medications.
