| Pap smear
I went to see a doctor today as I have been bleeding between periods (on the pill) for the last 4 months, since I started having sex again after not being with anyone for a couple of years.
To cut a long story short, my partner has HSV2 - an antibodies blood test has cleared me of the virus, and we have both been cleared for other sti's.
I had a pelvic ultrasound which showed a normal uterus and ovaries.
I had a pap test done - my doc said my cervix looked a little red and inflamed around the circumference. I also bled after the swab (which has happened before after a pap test with normal results). I bled enough to have to put a tampon in. She said she would check for STI's again as well as the cervical cells.
Does this sound like anything to worry about? I was also getting pregnancy symptoms and I know that a red, swollen cervix can also be a sign of pregnancy, but a blood test came back negative.
I am very scared and after any advise.
