| Pet scan??
Hi all,
Last year I was detected with thyroid nodule & after a series of tests doctor came to a conclusion that the TFT'S are normal & for the time being thyroid nodule can be observed if it further grows. Now after a year I met my ENT surgeon for my cough, he said its bacterial infection & has put me on anti biotics. When I told him about my thyroid nodule & showed him all the reports, he said, we should get a PET scan done.
What is this PET scan?
Is it a primary investigation to find out about the thyroid nodule or an advanced one?
How long is the whole procedure?
He also mentioned something about Hot & Cold nodule.
Can anyone elaborate on these plz.
