I have had the symptoms of mild itching, discharge and a fishy type of odour down below for over 2 years now and it's really getting me down. I'm 17 and I'm not sexually active. I have seen my doctor and she took a swab and a urine sample. She also subscribed me Thrush medication, as she thought it was unlikely for me to have Bacteria Vaginosis as I am not sexually active. I took the medication and nothing has happened. I was told I'd also be sent a letter with the swab test's results and after two weeks of waiting, I rang up the doctors and the women me and my mum spoke to said that the results said 'no need for action'. Going back to the symptoms, the discharge is usually clear, with a few specks of white in it, but I also have discharge which comes out an orangey/brown colour now and again. I have recently felt mild soreness under my belly area that comes and goes and now I'm starting to worry that I've got some kind of internal infection which could prevent me from having kids when I'm older! Can I also add that I am quite a clean freak and have about 1-2 showers a day, and I am aware that I may wash my vaginal area too much, too often.
I am really not impressed with the British Healthcare system (NHS)! I feel like whenever I go to the doctors they 'fob me off' and try to get me out of the door as soon as possible!
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
