Been on period for 6 weeks.

Hello!
2 months ago I got the contraceptive implant fitted.
My gyno said it will take a while to get used to your body and periods can occur irregular. However, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and have not had a 'natural' period for about two years, so she thought I'd carry on this way.
2 weeks after the implant got fitted, I started spotting and noticing little bits of blood. A week after that I started my period but it was very light. For 4 weeks now I have had a heavy period, with quite sizeable clots.
I'm going to see someone in a weeks time but can they do anything to make it stop?
It's making me utterly miserable! I know a lot of people get the implant taken out but as I have PCOS it took a years worth of tests before they gave me the all clear to get it fitted, so I want to give it a chance.

Thanks.
