53 why

Okay
It has taken me half an hour to get into this. I am not happy
Main problem is, I am 53 still keep getting my period but not pregnant . WHY??

Hi Jayne,

I feel your pain (literally, at the moment). Menopause is sort of like menarche (the onset of menstruation) in that it comes to everyone when it comes and rarely when we're ready for it. I don't have a technical answer for you because I'm no doctor, but maybe you can feel comforted that you aren't going through this alone.

Are you trying to get pregnant? If so, you'd need to see a fertility expert at this point as you probably used up all your eggs years ago. Just because you are having a period does not mean you are still able to conceive.

And if you are wondering why you are still having periods at this age, it's very common. Did you start at an early age? Most women who start early get to menopause later. Your gyno can help you here as well.
