| Total Hysterectomy and bladder repair week 5 - so many problems!
My 5th week post-op from total hysterectomy and bladder repair and still feel far from well. The actual surgery recovery has been overshadowed by severe gastro-intestinal issues. Sharp knife-like gas pains continue, and already a sufferer of IBS-C, I am taking 2 Miralax doses daily along with my usual 2 Amitiza. Constipation is under control, but along with the knife-like pains (which continue), my gastro-intestinal system spasms 24/7. Not a quick shaking spasm as I've seen posted, but gripping contractions that squeeze and are quite painful. I can only relate them to the contractions of child-birth, but they occur above the waistline. For one week, I have taken the antispasmodic, Hyoscyamine, but it does not cure the issue. Anyone else ever had these symptoms? The surgeons office is dismayed at these symptoms and I don't see the surgeon for my post-op visit until mid-July.
