Could I be pregnant and still get monthly periods?
For the past month or two I experienced some slight changes such as fatigue, headaches, urinating more than usual, weight gain(about 8-10 pounds), fluttery movement in abdomen, gasy, and about a month and half before that I was breaking out like crazy but I went to my derm and got a precription for Retin A to take care of that. I was just wondering if I could be pregnant because my husband and I have been trying. I get my period every month and it's pretty much normal just maybe slightly different. I took a few pregnancy test the past month and it came up negative. Could it be wishful thinking and I'm causing myself to have these symptoms? Please your comments would really help? I'm interested to know has this happened to any of you.
Re: Could I be pregnant and still get monthly periods?
I wish I had an answer for you because I'm experiencing some of those same symptoms. I know it is possible to bleed some during pregnancy even though it isn't technically an actual cycle. They're usually lighter, and it's my understanding that they generally aren't on a regular schedule. If you're having a period every month like clockwork, you're probably not pregnant, but I'm sure stranger things have happened. Have you been to a doctor? Their urinalysis tests can pick up lower levels of the hormone that home tests look for (some women just have lower levels than others), and you can ask for a blood test which should definitely give you an answer one way or another.

Yeah I know maybe I'm not pregnant but the only way I'll know for sure is if I go to the doctor. I made an appointment to go to my obgyn on Friday. I'm going to try and not get my hopes all up. Will keep you updated.
Re: Could I be pregnant and still get monthly periods?
It is completely possible...I was 4 months pregnant before I skipped my first period and found out I was pregnant. They were steady and regular but a little different just like you're describing...everything was pretty much the same way you are describing but I didn't pay any mind to it. I even took the home pregnancy tests and they came out negative as well thats why I guess I completely dismissed it until 4 months later when I actually missed a period. I hope it all works out for you and will keep you in my thoughts.
