PMS Worse Than Usual

Usually around this time of the month I experience slight mood swings and a slight sweet foods craving.

This time is seems to be worse.

All I want to do is junk food. I ate a serving of Oreos yesturday, which usually does the trick, but after I was done I just wanted more and more and more. I feel like I want to cry all the time; and if I don't want to cry I am angry.

I don't understand why this is happening.

Could my PMS be worse than usual because of some emotional things going on in my life?

Thanks!

Re: PMS Worse Than Usual

Hi maybe I can help. Each month periods can be different. It's the hormones. Hormones are chemical substances, produced in the body that are transported by the blood to other organs to stimulate their functions. Pms symptoms are caused by hormonal and physical changes just before your menstruation. The hormones that control the release of the egg as well as the ones that get your body ready for implantation affect emotion and the retention of water. Symptoms of PMS is Depressed mood, feelings of hopelessness Anxiety, tension, sudden and dramatic mood swings, anger, irritability, decreased interest in usual activities, difficulty in concentrating, fatigue, lack of energy, change of appetite, overeating, food cravings, sleep disturbances, sense of being overwhelmed, physical symptoms such as breast tenderness or swelling, headaches, joint or muscle aches, bloating, weight gain. Also like you said it could be the things that are going in life. You can take Midol or Pamprin for menstrual symptoms that you have. Hope this helps.
