Red face Have to go and have a Smear re-test :-(

Hiya

I had my first smear test done last month, and the result was that I had Borderline changes and that I had to go back in 6 months.....great.

I have looked online and looked and the booklets sent to me with my result, but im still nervous as hell about it! When i originally had the test done, it was VERY uncomfortable, and there was lots of tugging and shoving, and apparently......the nurse was struggling with the amount of discharge that was in the way.

Has anyone elses experience of a smear test been like this, or has anyone had the same result as me?

Re: Have to go and have a Smear re-test :-(

I think most women have an abnormal pap at some point in time! Such things as sex the day before, a bubble bath, infection, etc can cause an abnormal pap smear. So, if you had some sort of discharge, that can cause it as well. Since they want you back in 6 months, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
