Hi all! I'm hoping you can help me out. My last period was extremely light. I usually have an 7 day, heavy period. This period was four days, and mostly spotting. I was also experiencing pain on my left side almost daily. I went for a pap which came back abnormal. I was referred to a specialist for a colposcopy. The specialist also sent me for an internal ultrasound as I was having continual pain in my left side, below my belly button. I recieved a call from my doctors office stating that the results from the colposcopy were "stage one," not a worry, and that I'll have a pap done every 6 months until three in a row come back normal. A nurse called me today to tell me that my internal ultrasound showed a "complex cyst" on the left ovary and that they would recheck in 6 weeks. After hanging up and researching "complex cyst" I called back asking what kind of complex cyst it was and what size it was. The nurse called back saying it is 2.2 cm and a corpus luteum cyst. Upon researching I'm very concerned that my doctor, and/or his office is clueless as everything I'm seeing shows a corpus luteum cyst as simple not complex. Can anyone shed any light on this? Should I be worried? Thanks in advance.
