HELP!! Large Itchy Swollen Bumps

A day after shaving last week i developed some large bumps in my pubic region. I have been keeping it clean and dry down there. I've also been putting hydrocortizone on the area but it hasn't done anything but stop the itching. The bumps are still there and it seems like there are more and the smaller ones are larger. I have never had this problem before, but I don't normally shave down there. I just don't know what it could be or how to treat it.

Okay, it could be razor burn or it could be ingrown hairs. Either way, hydrocortisone might not be your best bet.

You know what works well for me? Aspercreme. The aspirin takes down the swelling and pain, just as it does for acne. Somehow, this is a different type of swelling than what cortisone treats.

Hi, what jane said about the razor burn, ingrown hairs or razor bumps it is a possibility. Sometimes it could be the razor that causes them. When that happens it's time for a new razor. Make sure you use warm water and not hot water when you shave down there. The female's vagina is a sensitive area so take your time while shaving. You can use a good cream to moisture the area. Ingrown hairs are hairs that grows at an abnormal angle and turns back into the skin, causing the formation of a pustule or papule. The bumps can turn into ingrown hairs.
