Breast cyst that doesn't go away
Hi, I'm a 35 year old woman & I first noticed a very small pea-sized lump under my nipple about 5 years ago. I was kind of freaked out but my doctor felt the lump and said it was round-edged and movable, so she doubted it was breast cancer. I have no history of breast cancer in my family, but my mother does have fibrocystic breasts. When it was still there a few months later, she ordered an ultrasound. They stated I had ductal dysplasia (I think that was the name) and it was not cancerous.
4 years later, the cyst is still there. It has never gone away, but it does seem to get larger around my period. Right now it feels oval and about an inch long. I do not have any other lumps in either breast. I also haven't had any breast changes associated with breast cancer. Is this normal for it to not go away? Should I go back to the doctor and have another ultrasound or an aspiration?
The reason I have delayed this is because I have terrible insurance and I have to pay for a $1,200 deductible before they even start covering everything.
