Weight loss and no longer having periods Has any one had an history of losing weight and stopped getting their period? I'm currently 115 pounds and 5 5.5". Technically i'm a healthy weight so I do not know what the issue would be. If anyone had a previous history like mine, please share your story. Thanks! |
Re: Weight loss and no longer having periods I am 19 years old. I did lose the weight very quickly. I lost about 40 pounds in 2-3 months time. I used to weight 155. I am not on BC. I have been off of it for about a year. When I went off of it I stopped having periods. I know that I am not pregnant. Thanks. |
Re: Weight loss and no longer having periods
I assume you were on a hormone bc and you have seen your gyno. are you unhappy with dr explanation as to your cycle is it other wise normal as in mid month you should have the typical slick egg white cervical discharge as opposed to times when the cervix is plugged by the mucous plug have you had ultra sounds or other such to look at the ovaries and womb good luck you are now at a perfect weight. hope things go back to normal for u
Thank you for your help. I have actually had ultrasounds and there seems to be nothing wrong with my ovaries or reproductive organs. I am in the process of seeing a gyno. I was irregular before the birth control, by the way. If any one else has a story similiar to mine, I would love to hear it. Thanks! |
Re: Weight loss and no longer having periods Hello, being underweight can cause a female periods to stop or be irregular. If a female does not have enough body fat she will not have regular periods. Typically a weight gain will help a female have her periods return. |
