Severe Pelvic Pain
I'm 29 years old and I've been having a problem that no doctor has been able to figure out. I wonder if anyone has had anything similar happen to them. First off, I used to always have a normal cycle, even after I had my son via c-section in 2005. When I had a miscarriage in December of 2007 it sent my body off kilter. My hormones were messed up to a point that I would not have a period for several months at a time, then when I would get it I would bleed for weeks. It got so severe that I bled for 6 weeks straight and actually had to have a blood transfusion this past January because I had lost too much blood. They estimated I had lost a little over a quarter of my blood volume. They gave me a hormone pill for a while that caused my period to stop, then put me on birth control to regulate me out. My husband and I want to have another child, so I stopped taking the birth control a few months ago, but now I've been experiencing very bad pelvic pain. It feels crampy, but I'm not on my period. The pain is almost as severe as the pain I went through while in labor with my son. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry.
I don't know if it's related, but when I was pregnant with my first child in 2004 the doctors found a cyst on my right ovary. When I had ultrasounds last January to try to figure out my menstral problems they said the cyst is still there and is slightly bigger than before. They estimate it's about twice the size of the ovary, but I've never experienced any other pain in the past related to the ovary. I usually just forget I've had it because I've never experienced problems from it in the past.
