Question Palpitations and Period/PMS

I have suffered from PVCs/PACs (feels like a skipped beat...also called ectopic beats) for several years. But I have always noticed that they are significantly worse around my period. Specifically, 7-10 days prior to and about 2-3 days into my period - they are awful sometimes several a minute.

Now, I have had all the cardio tests and they tell me I am fine and need to learn to deal with it. Okay, whatever. That will take time.

However...the change is SO dramatic that I know there has to be a direct correlation and if so, how can there not be a remedy? I will go two weeks with barely a skip. Maybe a couple here and there. But BAM!! As soon as PMS time hits, they are awful until my period is almost over. Clearly this is hormonal.

Any thoughts or suggestions?? Could this possibly get better one day after I go through menopause??

Thanks.

Re: Palpitations and Period/PMS

Hi
Yes, hormones r the cause. Mine r worse during cycle and ovulation. They were worse in my twenties. They were horrible while pregnant. I have heard during menopause it is better. U probably know but stay away from caffeine and I tried magnesium, but that did not help.

Re: Palpitations and Period/PMS

Oddly enough, my pregnancy was wonderful. Yes, I did stay on the beta blockers...but while pregnant I had no skips, no anxiety. It was weird. TOTALLY different story once she was born tho!! And now...ugh...seems to be getting worse. I am 37 so not sure if I am starting to be peri already or what. I do hope this does eventually get better!!!!
