I'm 19 years old and about a month ago I went to the gynecologist because I rarely ever got my period. I would go anywhere from 3 to 5 to 8 months without getting my period. I decided since I was there I would also get a papsmear. 2 days after my gynecologist told me to get a pelvic sonogram and return with the results today. I did but apparently she is sick and won't be coming in today - now I have to wait until they give me another appointment. I can't keep stressing myself out over this though and just want to know something about what the final report even means.
Technique: an ultrasound of the pelvis was performed
The uterus measures 7 or cm in its respective sagittal, AP, and transverse dimensions. No myometrial masses are seen. There is a nabothian cyst in the uterine cervix and minimal fluid in the cervical canal.
The endometrial stripe measures 10 mm, which is within the range of normal.
There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.
The right ovary measures 4 x 3 x 3 cm. The left ovary measures 3 x 3 x 2 cm. No adnexal masses are seen. There is a simple 2 cm right ovarian cyst.
That is the exact report I hold in my hands. If anyone can shed any light on what it is telling me exactly or what I should expect or anything. If I should be worried...
Thank you in advanced.
