What kind of tests should I request for amenorrhea?

Hey everyone. I have an appointment with my gynecologist in August to see if I can finally figure out what is causing my amenorrhea (absence of periods). What type of tests should I request? Are there any tests that can be run that are not typically done for this problem?

Also, I was on the depo shot as recently as this May. I went off of it in May as that was when I was due for another shot but I did not get it. I know that the depo can cause amenorrhea but is there a way to counteract this so that my periods will return? Also, I am not open to using a birth control pill to have a period as those are fake periods. I want a true period.
