Bicornuate Uterus

Hi everyone,
I'm a little confused, hoping you can help.

A recent pelvic ultrasound showed that I have a bicornuate uterus. However, no previous ultrasounds have ever shown this.

Is there anything else that could be mistaken for a bicornuate uterus?

Thanks!

J

Re: Bicornuate Uterus

I can't think of anything that would be confused with a bicornate uterus. I would wonder if it showed up before but just wasn't mentioned if it was unrelated to the problem at the time. Some Drs "protect" their patients by not telling them infomation that may upset them or cause them to worry. I am not a proponant of that practice, but know it is common. To me, that represents dishonesty and a dismissal or disbelief that the patient can handle the truth, even when they have a right to know it.
