Unhappy New to this site but I need help. does anyone know what could cause an early period?

So I know that sometimes your body just gets out of wack sometimes and that can cause irregular periods. But I'm not sure what might have caused it? I haven't been stressed out or had any changes in diet or anything prior to starting it again. My last period ended on the 26th of last month. Then I had had unprotected sex (and he did *** inside) a few times between the 30th and the 5th. On the morning of the 5 th ( Sunday) I noticed I had some light brown discharge. On the 6th (monday) i noticed I had some spotting. Then by Tuesday morning I started a very heavy period with lots of clots. At least I think it's my period? Today is 4 days of that. The only difference between this and my normal period is that the timing is way off and I have a little nausea and no appitite. Im just really confused because I thought my body would be ovulating right now..not having another period..this has never ever happend before? I do not take any birth control and I don't do anything that would normally affect a period. So I don't understand what could have caused this...and I'm not sure if maybe I should be concerned. The bleeding has since gotten a little lighter. And isn't heavy at night so I'm not worried that it won't stop. But could this be a sign of a bigger problem?and Is it possible that having sex could have maybe through my hormones off track and that's what's caused it? Any help is appreciated.

There are many things that can cause late and early periods. Hormone changes, stress, dietary changes, anemia, etc.

The best way to get an answer is see your doctor.
