Spotting 2 weeks before my period, now late period!!

Hello, I'm a 25 year old female. I'm on aviane birth control and my boyfriend and I always use a condom. About 2 weeks ago I started brown spotting with some blood mixed in. Ive never spotted before this far away from my period. This lasted about 3-4 days and disappeared. It happened exactly in between my last period and when my next period should start. I was supposed to get my period yesterday, so I'm a day and a half late, but still have no signs, other than alittle cramping, of getting it. My last period was 2 days late and was normal. I know it's not that late, yet, but I'm alittle worried. Since taking birth control I've always had regular periods starting on time, give or take a few days occasionally. If i dont get my period in the next few days i will take a pregnancy test. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!

Did you miss a day on your pill? Or did you take it later than you usually do? This can sometimes cause spotting to happen between periods and then stops again.

I haven't missed a pill recently, but there may have been a time or two where I took it a few hours later than I normally do. I still haven't gotten my period yet. If I don't get it today it will be three days late!!
