Last night when I explained my problem to my husband, he laughed and said he thinks I have prostate problems. Obviously not!
However, I have what many men have: difficulty with urination, especially at night. Sometimes I wake up with a bladder that feels like it's about to burst. When I get to the toilet, a little bit comes out and then the stream stops as if my bladder were empty. I am aware, of course, that it COULD NOT be empty because I was about to pop when I woke up! If I sit for 5-10 more minutes (in the cold in the dark feeling terribly tired ), then the full heavy stream will finally come pouring out.
This has been getting worse over the past 10 years. My doctor told me initially that our bladders get flabby like an over-inflated balloon as we age, and no doubt that's true. But could there possibly be other concerns that should be resolved, like a mass that blocks the ureter?
