| Fibroadenoma
I have 3 fibroadenomas in my right breast. I noticed the first one when I was in my mid 20s. I'm 30 now.
Anyway, I got them all biopsied, and they are non-cancerous. But the one I've had for the longest is very painful. It is sore all the time but I only notice it if I bump into it. But when I have PMS, that one lump just pulsates almost all the time. It's soooo painful. Just super sharp pulsating pain. Sometimes it wakes me up during the night. Lately I've been experiencing it even between my periods. I recently started birth control pill, so I don't know if that's why.
Last time I had a check up, I told my doctor I wanted it removed. And she kind of encouraged me not to by saying I'd have a scar, and she just sounded like she didn't think I should do it. But it's been really bothering me a lot. I almost don't care anymore if I have a scar. My mom had a fibroadenoma removed a number of years ago, and she said she doesn't have much of a scar. So I don't know... I think it might be worth it to just have the thing removed.
Has anyone had this surgery done before? Any advice? Thanks!
