I went to my doctor for a pap smear and it came back abnormal, so my doctor wanted me to come in for a colposcopy. I went back and she told me that everything was fine. Just some inflammation. She told me to come back in 6 months for another pap smear. I went back and this time, it was slightly above normal, but she wanted me to come in for another colposcopy just to make sure everything was ok. They called to schedule the appointment, and I told them I would call back to schedule. I kept putting it off and now it has been about 4 months since I was supposed to reschedule. I'm not sure If I should schedule another colposcopy or just schedule a pap smear in a couple of months. I get annoyed with going back and forth to the doctor. The only reason why I feel like I need to schedule now is becasue my prescription for birth control has ran out, and i need a new one. I know I can just call to have them call the pharmacy to refill the prescription, but I like to go in for the appointment because my birth control is expensive with my insurance and everytime I go in for an appointment, I get free samples. How important is it really to get the colposcopy or can I just wait to have another pap smear in a couple of months?
