| Large ovarian anechoic cyst
Hello all,
I am new to this, but need some help.
For the last 3 months my periods have been lasting entirely too long (usually only last 6 days or so). First was 18 days, then 11 days, and most recently 21 days. I went to the GYN and she ordered Thyroid blood word and transvaginal ultrasound.
Followed up today and the thyroid blood work, CBC, and pituitary blood work were all normal. The ultra sound showed "left ovary measures 5.9 x 5.9 x 3.6 cm, and contains a 4.2 x 3.0 x 4.5 cm anechoic cyst which contains two internal daughter cysts". Right is normal, no cul-de-sac free fluid and no adnexal masses.
She wants me to go back in a week for an endo biopsy and then return in 2 period cycles for another ultrasound.
I'm not sure what anechoic means? Could this be causing my irregular periods?
Of course I think of all my questions when I'm home at night and now my mind is going a mile a minute. Any thoughs would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
