Question Attention Issues Before/During Period

I've always had moderate attention issues, but right before my period, my symptoms become really severe. I cannot concentrate on anything (even things I truly enjoy) and I get restless. I also get severe cramping (to the point where I can't eat and double over on the floor or my bed.) I'm an honors undergraduate student, so I have quite a workload, but I typically have little to no issues with getting everything done. During the time of the month where I cannot get much done, I get behind and end up super stressed. Typically, I'll end up staying up super late and missing out on other events while I catch up. It sucks and I really want to resolve it. One of my friends take Vyvanse for her ADHD and an additional dose before her period. I'm wondering if this is worth trying? Has it worked for anyone or are there better options? I'm not a fan of hormonal birth control given the side effects -- I'm trying to avoid it.
