Embarassing... pleaseee help?

Hiya, tricky subject, but for the last 3 maybe 4 days I have been having nasty vaginal itching ... yeah, see ... awkward. I just don't know what could have caused it, I'm not having any discharge just crazy itching which is much worse in the evening. Anyone got any ideas of what it could be?? I know people will say go to the doctors ... but I really don't want to! xx

Re: Embarassing ... pleaseee help?

Thank you, I just don't know ... It's really upsetting me tonight it's horrific I can't go 5 seconds without scratching and now Iv scratched to the point that it's painful to pee. I've just tried putting a cold flannel on it which didn't work so now I'm running a bath need sleep but it's impossible!

If you are using any deodorant or perfumed products, stop. New soap? Use only unscented soap. As rose suggested, get an OTC yeast/fungal cream. Are you sexually active? Check for pubic lice (crabs). Sera

Re: Embarassing... pleaseee help?

No I'm not sexually active so that rules a few things out but I just don't understand. The only changes in my life style I can think of are I'm going through a phase of very in healthy eating and am quite stressed, but Iv been more stressed than this before. I know this kind of itching can be a sign of diabetes which concerns me since both my dad and older sister have it ... But it has come on sooo fast :S

Re: Embarassing... pleaseee help?

I would definitely recommend seeing your doctor just to be on the safe side.

Your symptoms describe thrush, so if your dead set against seeing your doctor go to the chemist or supermarket and pick up some canesten combi to treat it. If that doesn't help go see your doctor.

Re: Embarassing... pleaseee help?

Every woman gets a yeast infection at some point in her life. It's very common. Try the monostat. If that doesn't work, see a gyno for a prescription. It usually works very quickly.
