Question Fibrocystic Breast Lump Concern

I noticed a big hard lump more than a week ago and immediately jumped on it. Friday 10/26 I had a mammogram and ultrasound done. Monday 10/20 I am scheduled for a biopsy. I met with the radiologist after the mammogram and ultrasound and he said I had fibrocystic which some women gets. The lump is big, hard and solid. Of course I am still a nervous wreck. Does the mammogram and ultrasound really give the radiologist a clue of what it is? If so, and I was told it was fibrocystic, why is a biopsy needed?

I would really appreciate any feedback that can be give concerning what I am going through. Thanks in advance and God bless.
