Unhappy hello im new to peri menopause and nervous

Hi,
Im new here and hope to get get some kind of answers. I will be 48 next month and think i may be going through peri-menopause. I started a few months back with skipping my period. Nov i thought i got it and was like....."yes" i got it! I spotted all month up until now which is dec 10. And now im just praying it will stop. I am going crazy as some days the flow is heavy then stops. Im good for a day or two then i start up again. I go for my annual ck up dec 26th. Along with the never ending period i cant stop crying and i started with rosacia . How wonderful is it to be a woman........am i right ladies.
Please tell me im not the only one going through this and im not crazy. I dont know if im coming or going anymore. I know every woman is different and my symptoms are not going to be exactly like others but.....im scared. Wish health class filled you in on this stuff and not just what happens when you get your period.
Thanks for listening

Sounds like the normal progression. Talk with your gyno about going on birth control or even maybe HRT - though you may not be far enough along for that.

Re: hello im new to peri menopause and nervous

Definitely ask your doctor about a low dose bc pill. I had the same experience I am turning 47 next month. Still regular periods but the mood swings were horrible as well as tons of anxiety. The bc pill called Mircette was great for the first week but then the mood swings returned even worse than before. I decided to just take half the pill and had a tiny bit of break though bleeding but it was worth it because my mood was so much more stable. Sometimes I think less is more. From what I've read your hormones are all over the place at this time which makes it hard. Definitely talk to your doctor as soon as you can.. No need to suffer. Good luck!
