Uterine polyps

I had a PID infection from the Mirena this summer. I had it removed in July and since then I've been having irregular bleeding. I had a ultrasound done and they discovered that I have two polyps. My doctor said since I'm only 33, I shouldn't worry it's cancer but I'm scared. He will be doing a DNC in 3 weeks. I have hypochondria so now I'm freakin out. Can someone please reassure me? Is it possible with the removal of the mirena it caused the polyps?

Re: Uterine polyps

Your doctor is right. I've had uterine polyps removed six times. It's no big deal. I also had a huge fibroid removed which was a big deal. Polyps are easy, they grow on a little stalk and just need to be clipped off. It's a simple procedure and you don't need to be cut open at all. I have always gotten it done on a Friday and took the weekend for rest and was back at work Monday.

Although I'm not a hypochondriac I do have a major huge fear of needles so for me the worst part of the whole thing is getting the IV put in. That's we're I have the most anxiety. But once they have it in, I'm totally fine with the rest of it. And if I can handle getting IVs in with my intense fear of needles then you'll be totally fine.
