Unhappy Weird tissue during period.

I am using the Nuvaring and I took it out a few days ago and today my period started as it should. However I've been worried about it so I was checking a lot to see if it started and I noticed almost immediately after the bleeding started I got really bad cramps. Then this evening I noticed there was a strange peachy tissue in the pad with some black weird thing coming from the end.
Everywhere I look everyone says if this happened to them it was a ball. Mine was completely flat and quite large probably about as wide as a toilet paper square and half as long, so I don't know what it would be.
I took a birth control test and it said I was not pregnant.
History wise i have been on birth control for three years my period has always been regular. Seriously was never a day off. and I just started shift work so during the overnights I have been getting pretty messed up. One time i just randomly started bleeding then last time my period was 8 days late(1st occurrence), but it was just spotting because I put in the ring again.
So everything is pretty messed up down there now. But I am pretty worried about what that was.
Do you guys have any ideas???
