| | Abrupt Change In Menstrual Cycle Symptoms
I'm 24 years old and my period has always been steady. It'll come on the 20th-21st of every month and be gone by the 25th. I only would ever cramp on the first day of my period. Sometimes the cramping was severe, but it was always gone after that first day. That's how it was. For years.
Last month everything changed. About two weeks before my period was due, I started cramping, but lightly. I also started to experience lower back pain: an absolute first for me. I had no idea what to think. On the 17th, I started bleeding. The cramping that day was very bad. On the 19th, the bleeding just stopped. In the subsequent two to three weeks since then, I've had light cramping and lower back pain in alternating weeks. I'm not pregnant because I took a pregnancy test that came out negative and I'm wondering somewhat frantically what can cause such a drastic change in my cycle that's always been the same. There have been no changes in diet or stress levels. Does anyone out there have any answers?
